We’re excited to announce that Durojaiye Salaam, a powerful collaborative force behind DxD Intensives, is joining the coalition’s Advisory Council. A Bay Area native with extensive experience in product design and mentorship, Durojaiye brings a wealth of knowledge from his work in multiple industries and as an educator.
Durojaiye’s alignment with D×D’s mission, to advance equity in design, is rooted in his belief that design must be inclusive, accessible, and reflective of diverse lived experiences. His background uniquely positions him to contribute to D×D’s priorities and initiatives, especially in areas of mentorship and talent development for underrepresented designers.
Throughout his career, Durojaiye has led end-to-end design in fintech and SaaS, creating intuitive, inclusive experiences for users. He also teaches User Experience as an Adjunct Lecturer at his alma mater San Francisco State University, and as an Adjunct Instructor at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD). In these roles, Durojaiye helps cultivate the next generation of designers, focusing on inclusive design practices and preparing students for a rapidly evolving industry.
When reflecting on Salaam’s addition to the Advisory Council, D×D founder Andrea Pellegrino said, “Having had the good fortune of collaborating with Durojaiye since the launch of Intensives, a signature program of DxD, I'm thrilled to have him join DxD's Advisory Council. The passion, dedication, and experience he brings to mentoring the next generation of designers is invaluable to the coalition.”
“I’m excited to join the Advisory Council and continue the shared mission together. I’m honored to become a part of a board of brilliant and fabulous individuals who have the same goal,” said
Durojaiye when asked about his appointment to the council.
Durojaiye holds a B.S. in Visual Communications from San Francisco State University and is passionate about expanding the design canon to include BIPOC designers and authors. He advocates for curricula reflecting the rich diversity of our culture and that empowers students to shape a more equitable future.
Durojaiye’s experience and commitment to inclusion will be critical as we continue to push for greater diversity in the design field. We look forward to the impact he will have on our initiatives and the future of our community.
